1975 ad promotes obsessive crafting

She even needle-pointed the kid's blocks.

This ad ran about the time women demanded to be let out of the house and be allowed to enter the workforce. Could it be that the impetus was that there was nothing left to embroider?

Dear lord that's a heavily embroidered house... who expected THIS result when they invented those labor-saving appliances?

I wouldn't mind having a pattern for those kids blocks, actually. Probably a lot nicer than anything bought in the store, and they look like a decent size. (And you could probably put jingle-ball cat toys in them for extra fun...)
