I genuinely love cats. All cats. Even the cranky, hissing/biting ones.
I spoil our three cats rotten. But I draw the line at buying expensive cat food. If strays can live on puddle water and dirty rats and birds (birds are very dirty, too, you know), my cats can eat generic cat food.
I am, apparently, not a 'Sheba woman.'
Sheba premium cat food is currently filming a commercial in Britain with a $2 million (!) budget. The commercial is targeting women who believe in "free-spirited feline mysticism," according to a Sheba spokesperson.
Sheba's ad agency, AMV BBDO, adds, "The Sheba woman identifies with the free-spiritedness and independence of her pet." And presumably prefers to buy expensive cat food.
I can't speak for the Sheba woman but I can tell you this: if my cats could read the above two paragraphs, they'd laugh themselves silly.
