Skip the Axe, just give her a few Hershey bars

Women love chocolate. Turn yourself into chocolate and women will love you. Kinda makes sense.

To promote its new Axe Dark Temptation men's fragrance line, Axe has created a Facebook page where one can 'chocolatize' oneself.

This new Axe fragrance "combines the subtle aroma of chocolate with fresh gourmet scents, including hot chocolate amber and red peppercorn, to bring modern sophistication to this distinctive fragrance."

So, if women love chocolate, smell like chocolate and women will love you?

That's where the concept falls apart for me. I love champagne, lilacs and flea markets, too, but I don't want my husband smelling like any of them.

I LOVE this campaign to raise awareness of whale hunting. It's interactive, fun and helps the reader bond with the cause. And it's relatively cheap.

Don't let this awful ad sway you from checking out LetYourWorriesGo.com. The site offers four amusing  interactive ways to rid yourself of your financial worries. I found catapulting mine over land to be the most satisfying.

Northwestern Mutual launched a similarly great interactive concept last year.

To promote its show (does it still qualify as a hit?) Lost, ABC's website currently features Sawyer's Nickname Generator.

A genuine BFD

It isn't often that something genuinely new comes along. Something that's never been done before. And it's usually something so simple that the din of forehead slapping can be heard across the land.

This is one of those ideas.

Domino's is introducing BFD Builder -- short for Big Fantastic Deal Builder, so they say. It's an incredibly easy and fun way to order your pizza online.

If you already know what you want, this system of ordering doesn't take any longer than phoning in your order, but you do get to avoid hearing the harried voice of a manager trainee on a busy Friday night.

On the other hand, if you're not sure what you want on your pizza, this interactive site is highly preferable to asking that same manager trainee to repeat your crust and topping options yet again.

I'm definitely going to use this the next time I'm ordering pizza in.

PETA takes on the Olsen twins a.k.a. The Fur Hags

I'm opposed to wearing animal fur and I find the Olsen twins ridiculous, so you can imagine my glee when I discovered Mary Kate and Ashley (or Hairy-Kate and Trashley, as PETA likes to call them) are PETA's newest target.

In fact PETA has devoted a whole website to blackballing the Olsens' new fashion line which includes various items of clothing featuring animal fur.

The illustrations alone are reason enough to visit the site. The opportunity to dress the Olsens in bloodied fur garments is the icing on the vegan cake.

The OJ Simpson Trial Countdown Widget

If Comedy Central were behind this OJ Simpson trial countdown widget, I'd be writing a rave review about it. Because it is funny. And because this time no one was killed, this widget is a relatively guilt-free pleasure. Trouble is, the widget is from ABC News. Peter Jennings must be spinning in his grave.

What's more, almost 75% of U.S. Internet users watched videos online for an average of three hours during the same month.

* I know, I know... Miss Teen South Carolina didn't give her infamous answer until August. One can only imagine what the numbers for THAT month will look like.

Dunkin' Donuts has a great idea. Then screws up the execution.

I read on AdFreak that Dunkin' Donuts site MyIcedCoffee.com has teamed up with MapQuest to offer consumers a way to quickly find directions to the Dunkin' Donuts nearest them serving iced coffee.

"Great idea," I thought. Until I went to the site.

I had to search (!) for the Dunkin' Donuts locator.

It was hidden under a website menu section titled "GET MORE OUT OF YOUR SUMMER."

For cripesakes, that's exactly the kind of menu title consumers know not to bother with because it's almost always full of dumb-ass suggestions like "save money by freezing orange juice and making your own popsicles" and "keep cool by storing your underwear in the refrigerator."
