The Oscar Mayer Wienermobile probably qualifies as guerrilla marketing. Making me want to ride in it even more.
I actually saw the Wienermobile on the highway once. Route 128 South in Woburn, Massachusetts, to be exact. Frankly (no pun intended), considering the rubber-necking all of us who saw it were doing, it's a wonder the Wienermobile doesn't leave a trail of car wrecks in its wake.

To make young people more aware that they may be carriers of HIV without even knowing it, volunteers canvassed the streets of Lima discreetly tagging these stickers on unknowing pedestrians.
In the first month of the campaign, there was an 80% increase in phone calls to the clinic; the calls resulted in a 70% increase in HIV tests.

In a self-promotion campaign (in the guise of a good cause), Tel Aviv design shop VeeCee filled a neighborhood with life-size cut-outs of hookers.
VeeCee was protesting escalating rents. By filling the neighborhood with streetwalkers, VeeCee theorized that property values would decrease and rents would have to follow, bringing more affordable housing to the masses.
No word as to whether or not this campaign did anything for the rents in Tel Aviv, but it certainly got VeeCee lots of attention. Crowds of hookers will do that.

Last week I told you how Proctor & Gamble was promoting Charmin Bathroom Tissue by constructing a 20-stall public restroom in Times Square.
The facilities opened Monday and Gothamist has provided photos...
P&G has hired workers to clean the bathrooms after each use; these toilets are cleaner than the ones at home!
Alas, these commodious restrooms will be open only until December 31st.
Adwalkers are a "patented media platform that's worn as a compact body pack." Or, as these photos illustrate, they're interactive video screens to be worn by people you hire to create some buzz for your product or service.
One can imagine how easily such a thing would draw a curious crowd of potential customers. Or clients. Because even attendees of the stuffiest B2B conference would likely be engaged by a promotion utilizing Adwalker technology.
Plus, the high-tech aspect of Adwalkers lends credibility to the whole endeavor. I imagine safety-conscious types who are mistrusting of strangers who approach them in public would feel reassured that anyone walking around with this kind of specialized equipment isn't a scam artist. Or worse.
To help launch its new store in Pilestraede, Copenhagen, Adidas created a guerrilla marketing campaign that included filling the town fountain with blue rubber duckies.
Printed on the duckies, along with the Adidas logo, was the message: I've swum too far -- help me get back home! Reward for my return at Adidas Original store.
Consumers who picked up a duck (who could resist?) and brought it to the store (again,who could resist?) were rewarded with a very nice T-shirt -- and Adidas was rewarded with LOTS of free press.
It's particularly sad that we live in a world that needs WatchYourDrink.com, an organization dedicated to the prevention of rapes and other crimes made possible by putting the 'date rape drug' in unsuspecting people's drinks.
To illustrate the dangers to bar patrons, cocktail umbrellas were placed into random patrons' glasses while people weren't looking. When their attention came back to their drinks, they got a rather sobering lesson in how easy it is to have one's drink spiked.
