Consumer Prices in United States are 32% lower than in Australia so the miniwage there in terms of actual standard of living is $11.50.

I wouldn't worry about the MW. The administration is pursuing an inflationary monetary policy. The MW WILL be going up and the general standard of living WILL be going down.
