A TV commercial for Duncan Hines Amazing Glazes was pulled because of complaints that it's racist.
Personally, I think the promotion would have been fine if they hadn't used the term "Hip Hop cupcakes." But, unfortunately, they did. And that turned cute cupcakes into blackface baked goods.

I was saying "uh-oh" to myself the second the bright rolling eyes popped out of the blackface - - - followed immediately by the minstel-show lips!
Duncan Hines really really REALLY didn't foresee this kind of response? Really?
I'm off to the grocer's right now to pick me up some Duncan Hines Pickaninny Pancakes and some Duncan Hines Jigaboo Jam Squares. I hears they's in the wattymelon aisle.

Of course it's racist. It's the same way they used to draw pictures of black people - black face, big white buldging eyeballs, big red lips, singing and dancing.
