Family breakfast at IHOP this morning.
There was a bit of a wait. When we put our name in, we got a laminated card that read, "HUGH JACKMAN."
At the IHOP on Highland Avenue in Salem, Massachusetts, they let you know your table is ready by calling out the celebrity name that corresponds to the card they give you when you request a table.
Such a simple and fun idea.

This well-intentioned ad is supposed to be promoting awareness of the horrors of the sex slave industry. Instead, it makes it seem rather glamorous.
Even with the barbed wire, this image is erotic. Don't make me
explain why. To paraphrase Potter Stewart, we all know it when we see
it.
The glimpse of black lace is seductive, which is not only highly inappropriate
but savagely cruel considering this ad is supposed to be representing
women forced to have sex with a parade of men, day after day, with no end in sight.
And if ever there was an occasion NOT to objectify women with a flash of thigh, this was it.
This ad is profoundly sad for all the wrong reasons.

Moroccanoil is the name of an awesome brand of hair conditioning and styling products. I'm a huge fan. And so I became a Facebook Fan of Moroccanoil.
As a result, now when an ad for long distance phone service appears in the margins of a Facebook page I'm looking at, the ad features a woman in a hijab talking on the phone while the headline promotes low rates to Morocco.
